LANKTON
Oshkosh Daily Northwestern October 21, 1879
On Sunday while Mr. and Mrs. LANKTON were riding along James street in the vicinity of the Algoma Methodist church, the bits broke at the horse's mouth in some way so that the pressure of the lines guided him out of the road into the deep ditch beside the street. Mr. LANKTON was first thrown out, and but a few steps further on the horse himself was thrown down, and Mrs. LANKTON was thrown clear over the horse into the ditch. Help arrived and the horse got on his feet and things straightened around. Mr. LANKTON was considerably lamed and Mrs. LANKTON was somewhat bruised by the accident. They were fortunate enough to get off with no more serious injury.
