While researching family history in Stearns County, Minnesota I noticed my gg grandfather Heinrich Struck came to Racine County, WI in 1856 and around 1860 moved to Minnesota. I have discovered the same kind of trail for others who settled in Stearns County. Can anyone enlighten me as to why these people would stop for just a few years in Racine and then move on? Almost all were of German origin. I cannot seem to find any record of Heinrich being in Racine County although his citizenship papers say he was. Any help would be much appreciated.
