Sudden Death
Mr. John Howarth, father-in-law of Ernest Caleb of this village, had been ailing for some time, and on Friday evening he had very peculiar symptoms which gave the family great alarm, but the old gentleman assured them that there was nothing unusual the matter, and for them to go to bed and never mind him. But his symptoms were of so strange a nature, they concluded to sit up and watch with him. The old gentleman did not go to bed, but sit up in the rocking chair, and apparently was awake all night. At about five o'clock on Saturday morning he arose from his chair to cross the room. When in the middle of the room he fell to the floor. He was immediately picked up and placed on the bed, when life was found to be extinct. Mr. Howarth was an old man of 86 years of age, and the only (can't read) attributed to his sudden death is old age. The funeral took place on Sunday and was largely attended.
